BACKGROUND

In 2002, during a visit to some underdeveloped areas in China, we witnessed many families living in poverty, urgently in need of physical care and financial assistance. When we learned that many children of these families had to quit school for lack of money, our hearts were filled with an unutterable sorrow.

After returned from China, I have shared my heart with people in North America, many of them responded rapidly by supported 245 disadvantaged children to go to school. Later, we realized that these poor families also needed tangible support in other aspects of life as well.

In an attempt to serve more effectively, an organizational infrastructure was needed to channel the service of overseas Chinese professionals and other personnel. This led to the Go and Love Foundation being established in October 2003 as a non-profit organization registered in the State of California. Since then, through our works, we have seen children become motivated to study and go on to continue their education; we have also seen the physically and spiritually wounded receive holistic healing.

The Go and Love Foundation has also provided a means for many overseas¡¦ Chinese to find a channel to participate and serve in our projects. Using their professional expertise, these Chinese professions have changing the lives of those minority people through skill training, living environment improvement and holistic development. Besides the United States, these professionals also come from Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, and other countries to join us in our projects.

In April 2006, to facilitate the expansion of our works, a branch of Go and Love Foundation was established and approved by the Canadian government as a non-profit organization.

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Foundation, in addition to financial provision, is to help develop the untapped human and economic resources in areas populated by people who are both materially and spiritually deprived. With the love as our foundational motivating force, we want to empower them to use the resources that they possess to develop their community, so that their community can be transformed to become an independent, self-sufficient and holistically healthy community ¡V in body, mind, and spirit.
