There is Hope in Life

“My name is Yin Da Nan, male, 69 years old. I developed the symptoms of leprosy in 1970. As soon as the government found out that I had the disease, I was sent to this remote village to be isolated. I was in my late 20’s at that time, young and strong My life changed 180 degrees from the moment I was found to have leprosy. I lost hope and life was meaningless to me.

I lived in this remote mountain village alone for a few years until more leprosy-stricken people like me were sent here. We lived together as neighbors since then helping and supporting each other, relying on a small stipend provided by the government. I started to have a little bit of hope in life. Then I met my current wife. Like me, she too had leprosy. After knowing each other for sometime, we moved in together. We encouraged and helped each other and lived a normal life.”

I met the Yin couple later and visited them frequently. I tended their wounds and treated their open sores. We established a good relationship and trusted each other. I loved them, and sometimes I would visit them three times a month. It took about seven hours of driving to reach their village. We became such good friends that I was almost like a member of their family. We discussed many things, such as living, life, the future, and hope, etc,
They had good hearts and did not expect much from me other than tending their wounds. Later I felt a calling to send them hope for building their spiritual lives. Now they can watch movies and understand the messages from our Father. May our Father remember the Yings.
