Greetings! I am one of the poverty-stricken students of Jinghong Third High School who received your generous financial support. You took time from your busy schedules to visit us at our school. Your visit alone would have made us overjoyed. But you brought us your financial support in addition, which resolved the burden on my mind. We deeply appreciated your kindness.

Because my family is poor, my parents have to live extremely frugally to make ends meet so that I can go to school. In fact, they sometimes have to forgo the need to see a doctor for their illnesses. The thought that they have to do so has brought me a great deal of emotional pain. I did not know what to do to improve our financial condition. When I found out that our school communicated with the Go and Love Foundation on our behalf, I felt greatly relieved.

When you visited us, you not only talked with us but also taught us how to study English, how to confront obstacles, and how to rise up to challenges. There was an lady who told us the story of how she overcame difficulties in her life when she was a student. She encouraged us to emulate her—to be brave and steadfast in the midst of difficulties. When I recounted this lady’s story to my parents, they were moved to tears, and they said to me, “My child, you must study hard now that you have such kind-hearted people helping you pay for your schooling.”

Dear uncles and aunties, when I watched you as you were leaving here, I made a pledge to myself that I will study hard no matter how poor my financial circumstances.
